Distributive property is breaking things to make an equation simpler

like 5(10+3)

you would do:

5 times 10 which is 50

5 times 3 which is 15

The answer is 65

 

Generic rectangles are also distributive property

For the generic rectangles, one box would be 50 and another would be 15 for 5 times 13.
