To me, this picture best captures what creativity means in art and design. My definition of creativity in art and design is the ability to make your masterpiece unique and out-of-the-box. It’s how you personalise your art and make your art truly yours. So this picture depicts one fork that seems to stand out clearly from the rest, depicting uniqueness and individuality even when it’s crooked and bent. It seems imperfect and ugly at first, but eventually people could start to accept this form of art. This to me is what makes art creative, because it’s different from others and may as well start a whole new trend of art. For example, the transformation between classical/Renaissance art to modern/abstract art didn’t just happen overnight. It happened when people started gradually thinking that they could show their feelings through abstract art rather than painting detailed portraits. Now, the explanations and symbolism behind abstract/modern art can be fairly more complex than the classical art. Therefore in art and design, creativity is shown not through the pencil itself, but how you channel your personality through the pencil to make your art unique.
