Causes of Problems

1) The oatmeal in our original plan was too big and wouldn’t flow through the tube we used for the small intestine easily without getting stuck

2) showing mastication by pulling strings connected to vampire teeth was harder than we though to do because we couldn’t place the teeth properly to hold still but still be able to move the jaw up and down.

3) using a pulley method to bring the stool through the large intestine was too detailed and too difficult to design and build properly and connecting the movement from moving up to over to down was an even bugger challenge

4) once we tried our new idea with the large intestine the ball would get stuck at the duodenum because we wouldn’t pull it over the small intestine tube without touching and moving it physically

5) the lower esophageal sphincter was made out of paper and the baking soda wouldn’t go into the stomach but behind and in front of it because it wasn’t sealed properly because it was made from paper

6) Blowing the chyme through the small intestine wouldn’t work either because we had sealant blocking the bottom of the tube to catch what was left over. We tried poking a small hole in the sealant because we thought that the air would push the cyme through the small intestine and that the air would release out the hole but because it was so small it wouldn’t cause any leaks.


The Digestive System goals

What I want to achieve this week:

On Monday I would like to have my essay almost done with the draft completed, needing just revision and editing

on Tuesday I would like to have all my materials in for building my model

on Wednesday I would like to have my essay completed and ready to submit

On Friday I would like to have my working model half done


Also – I would also like to have video for each test of the model


OVERALL –  by the end of the week by essay should be completed and my working model should be half done with documentations of the testing and how it went.

My Water Cycle Drawing

Here is my drawing of the hydrological cycle which is also called the water cycle. The water cycle has three main parts, evaporation, condensation and condensation. First, water from anywhere evaporates and thats when the liquid molecules speed up and turn in to a gas and rises up into the clouds. Evaporation occurs when a source of heat is added to the liquid so the liquid’s molecules are able to speed up. Then, once the gas is in the cloud, condensation happens. Condensation is when the gas in the cloud turns back into a liquid or even a solid by slowing down its molecules with cold temperature which the cloud provides. Next, after the gas has changed into either snow, rain, sleet or hail its ready to participate. Thats when the substance falls out from the cloud back onto the earth. After, the cycle can start again by the sun speeding up and heating the water so the cycle can go on.That’s my Hydrological Cycle (water cycle)!
