A video compression standard.
– What is the original file?
The trailer to Jerry Seinfeld’s critically acclaimed masterpiece the “Bee Movie.”
– How big is the file?
– What is bitrate?
The number of bits per second possible to be transferred across a network.
One kilobyte per second vs original video.
Encoding using Handbrake in the way that we are causes lossy compression, which lowers the file size, but also lowers the quality.
Hexadecimals are much shorter than binary, and it is commonly used for colors in a picture. All pixels on a screen are a different combination of red, green, and blue. Each color has a different amount of it, and a decimal number is used. The decimal is converted to binary, then nibbles, then hexadecimal.
Zip files are generally used to compress a file. Compression is making something smaller than it is usually. If I wanted to compress a file, the zip file will be a smaller size than the original. It is a lossless file, so nothing gets lost when compressed.
I learned how to encrypt a zip file with a password. It seems to be safe so far, but can be overcome through brute force.
The file size gets smaller when I use Terminal, but when I use the normal way to compress, it gets bigger for some reason.
