Romeo and Juliet
Act 1 Scene 1
In this part of the film, the Capulets and the Montague start a fight in the streets for the fourth time and are warned to stop or be punished by death. Afterwards Romeo is introduced and seems completely lovestruck.
Act 1 Scene 2
Paris asks Mr. Capulet for his blessing to marry Juliet. Mr. Capulet says that if you want to marry her, make her want to marry you. He then invites Paris to a feast
Act 1 Scene 3
Juliet’s Mother calls Juliet to talk with her about marrying Paris, but Juliet is not ready for marriage and certainly does not want to get married to someone she doesn’t know. The nurse is also introduced and she is very vibrant and loud.
Act 1 Scene 4
Mercuito is introduced to the story who is Romeo’s best friend. Romeo has a daunting dream and Mercuito makes fun of him for thinking that it actually means something.
Act 1 Scene 5
In this seen Romeo and Juliet meet at the ball that her father threw. In this scene They meet during a song and eventually kiss after falling in love at first sight. However they do not know that they are enemies until the end of the scene.
Act 2 Scene 1
Romeo leaves the ball and hides from his friends by climbing over the fence into Juliet’s house.
Act 2 Scene 2
Romeo sees Juliet on the balcony and they arrange a messenger to tell Romeo where they will meet to get married and then kiss A LOT.
Act 2 Scene 3
Romeo tells Friar Laurence about the marriage and he gets frustrated with Romeo because he was in love with Rosaline and he basically says that he is jumping from on girl to the next so don’t get married to a girl you will fall out of love with
Act 2 Scene 4
Mercuito makes fun of Romeo falling in love all the time. After a while the nurse comes to Romeo and is then made fun of by Mercuito and eventually asks Romeo to talk with her because she was the messenger and they organise it.
Act 2 Scene 5
The nurse arrives back to Juliet and messes with her by delaying to tell Juliet the information. Eventually she tells her where to meet and she heads off.
Act 2 Scene 6
They meet at the area where they would marry and Friar Laurence says that Romeo needed to love moderately because “violent delights result in violent ends”. The wedding then starts.
Act 3 Scene 1
Tibalt finds Mercuito cooling off and challenges him to a fight which he accepts eventually dying. After this Romeo runs after Tibalt and kills him to avenge Mercuito.
Act 3 Scene 2
After the killings Romeo is banished and while he is having a bit of a fit he tries to stab himself in the gut when he is stopped in the nick of time. Although he was exiled he was able to have one last night with Juliet. They then say their final goodbyes in hope that he can one day return.
Act 3 Scene 3
Juliet’s mother tries to comfort Juliet by saying that she will marry Paris and get revenge on Romeo under the imression that Juliet was balling for Tibalt. Juliet asks for advice from the nurse and she says to marry him but she would not. She says to the nurse to tell her parents she has gone to Friar.
Act 4 Scene 1
Juliet goes to Friar and asks for advice. Friar then gives a drug to Juliet which will make her seem dead for 42 hours to call of the wedding. Friar says that he will inform Romeo with a letter and sends off Juliet.
Act 4 Scene 2
Juliet agrees to the marriage to make the parents think that they can go ahead with a successful wedding and then drinks the drug.
Act 4 Scene 3
The nurse finds Juliet “dead” and tells the family. The funeral starts and Balthasar who is Romeo’s servant sees the funeral thinking she is actually dead.
Act 5 Scene 1
The letter did not arrive in time and Balthasar told Romeo about her death. Romeo then buys poison and goes to Juliet’s tomb to pay his respects
Act 5 Scene 2
Romeo pays his respects and then kills himself when a while later Juliet wakes up with Friar Laurence at her aid as he tries to hide her eyes from Romeo’s corpse. She eventually sees him dead and then also commits suicide.
